My Favorite Film Critic: Sucharita Tyagi

I invest my time in movies only after reading and viewing reviews on internet. Anupama Chopra, I think is the most loved film critic of the whole lot mostly because her videos are more like English lessons. No wonder if you are watching her with a dictionary in your hand. Since so many years she is doing the same job of reviewing movies, I find her criticizing even the good movies which later when I watch them on my laptop, I conclude, 'No movie should be judged by its review by a film critic'.  Anyway, as I can't do anything for my compulsive habit of studying reviews first and then going for movies, I follow Anupama's youtube channel, 'Film Companion'. I really wait for her video to find out what she has to say about the newly released movies. Apart from film reviews, she does very interesting interviews with the peers of the film industry and that's one more reason for following Anupama Chopra. Well well Sucharita Tyagi is one such film critic whom I rely on for my film fix these days. I swear she is the coolest film critic ever!
Sucharita reviews at Film Companion and I really admire her style of reviewing movies. Her show's name is, 'Not a movie review'. Her videos are so hilarious that it seems like I'm watching female version of 'Pretentious Movie Review' videos that too having one Sucharita in place of two boys, Kanan and Biswa. Yess! Girl Power!!. hahaha. sometimes I feel her videos are more entertaining than the movies she review. I'm thinking, is she the reason I'm not very keen to go for movies without watching her videos. Tell me if you also feel the same.

Scroll down to see some power-packed review performances of Sucharita.

You Go Girl!!

PJ King : Chintan Jethva

Suppose you are in a strange land with no known people around you and coincidentally you find a person from your place (country/state/city) whom you had never met before. Only thing you know about him/her is that he/she is from your land. At once you’ll be friends with that person and a fabric of trust will connect you both immediately. This is exactly how I felt when I first met this extremely crazy person; Chintan. Being only kid at home I always missed those funny sibling rivalries. Though, I requested all neighbourhood guys in my society to be my brothers so that on Rakshabandhan day I can earn some gifts. Growing up playing with them was ultimate childhood experience but they never fought with me.  So I was pretty hopeless of finding a part time sibling to fight with, unless I met Tin Tin.  Yes. That is how I shout at Chintan.         Cartoon-giri This guy is extremely moody. No one in SAS-9 is spared experiencing Tin T...

Cup Periods.. Best Periods

periods for me meant discomfort unless I started using menstrual cups. I had read about menstrual cups while campaigning against taboos related to menstruation but never tried to inquire more about them, considering that this might be a special product used by athletes. On Jagriti Yatra during our visit in Banglore, I visited stall of Boondh and that was the first time I was able to know more about cups and how any girl/woman can switch from plastic sanitary pads to cups. The eco-friendly reasons led me towards thinking about this product but the fear of inserting something in my vagina didn't allow me to buy it on that occasion. Few days later after Yatra, I got a call from a very popular Doctor and social activist of our city, also my mentor for campaigning against menstrual taboos, Dr Ami Yagnik and she was very keen to promote the idea of using menstrual cups among the Surti women. I immediately resonated with her idea and we decided on starting our campaigns to promote menst...

5 life lessons I learnt from my Dad

People who know me closely are aware of Tom & Jerry kind of relationship between me and my father. Off course no relationship is perfect and me and my papa is best example of that. Fighting, blaming, taunting, arguing, debating and stop talking are common events between us. Our relationship has a Kabhi-Khushi-Kabhi-Gam type of history but as I grew up I started accepting him the way he is and I realized that my papa is a jewel. I can learn several things from him. Its just that I’ve to deal with his quirkiness sometimes. List is long but here I want to share 5 most important things I learnt from him.   Accepting simplicity as a lifestyle :-  Being born in TV era, as a kid I was also very influenced by the virtual world very far from reality. I had aspirations like having very good clothes and to be richest person on the planet so that I could buy all the luxuries for myself. But I am a transformed person now. I see my papa, he has very minimal necessities for surv...
