My recent discovery in world of journalism: Vinod Dua


After Arnab Goswami left Times Now, I really started feeling the void and didn't knew what to depend on to get insights of important issues affecting our country. Moreover towards the end of Arnab's term, I felt that he lost his perception towards politicians and the debates seemed quite biased. But I am eagerly waiting for his comeback. So meanwhile I am exploring different news and debate platforms. To my surprise these days comedy has lot to offer. The stand-up comedians of our country are awesome and have taken comedy as a medium to express their views. Only thing that they use fowl language sometimes to make their piece of art palatable, doesn't appeals to me. While watching one such comedy show of Mallika Dua, I came to know about her background that her father is a popular journalist, Vinod Dua. I searched for him on google and found that he has a youtube channel, 'The Wire' to present true news with help of short videos. I watched some of his videos and I must tell you, I am a fan now. He is presenting the news from the angles we all miss to view, which is very different from the myopic news and views presented by other channels. Suppose you are in a strange land with no known people around you and coincidentally you find a person from your place (country/state/city) whom you had never met before. Only thing you know about him/her is that he/she is from your land. At once you’ll be friends with that person and a fabric of trust will connect you both immediately. The Unsettling Questions...

Today Kanika came back from her office little early. She made some sandwiches for her dinner and comforted herself on couch in front of the TV. She changed almost all channels but couldn’t find any interesting show to watch. She had some shopping to do but she delayed that on weekend as she was not willing to step out of her home after an exhausting day at work. Playing some songs of her customised playlist, she ate her dinner. While she was having dinner, her phone vibrated many times to give the notification that there might be some whatsapp messages but today Kanika was not interested in chatting with friends.
